here are some general guidelines for the species around here. if it's not listed, it's flexible. what's written here is what is set in stone.
vampires
- To be turned - a person needs to have ingested vampire blood and then die/be killed from their mortal death. Generally this means a vampire is going to drain them of all their mortal blood to kill the.m
- Never drink blood from the dead; it's toxic.
- Dead man's blood can reduce the vampire curse, but ONLY IF the person has been bitten but not yet fed.
- Weaknesses are wooden stakes, fire, and sunlight. To go into sunlight, vampires need to have something echnaged to allow them to do so or they need to be covered in a hood/protective clothing. Any other specific weaknesses is dependent on your personal character. Beheading will also kill.
- Possess abilities of speed and are extremely poised and agile.
- Vampires feel a bond, whether or not they want to, with the person that turned them...known as their sire.
- Very dignified and noble-like.
- Most vampires[not the newbies] have the ability of compulsion. Compulsion is like hypnotism and can be done via gaze or a scent that's alluring.
werewolves
- To be turned - a simple bite is all that is needed to turn a person. Bitten people will not experience the true effect of lycanthropy until the first full moon.
- Weaknesses are silver, wolfsbane, and beheading. Wolfsbane will kill slowly over time like a poison but burns flesh.
- Lycans are controlled by the moon. Those who are older and in control of their abilities MAY be able to shift outside of the full moon but ALL will turn during it. Whether they are coherent or aware of their actions during the moon cycle is completely dependent on the individual.
- Changing is extremely painful as it involves breaking bone and tearing flesh.
- Lycans are pack animals. A rogue lycan is a rare thing.
- Strength, speed, and the obvious physical attributes are their greatest abilities. They are, however, usually more barbaric than vampires.
wiccans/magic folk
This is a very broad category so I will not set a lot of limits with this. Wiccans include witches, warlocks, wizards, etc. A few examples would be: healers, potion masters, necromancers, shamans, seers, etc. Wiccans ARE technically mortals with gifts. Some live regular lives and all are susceptible to all human forms of death unless they are powerful to protect themselves against magic. Wiccans also do age and die, again, unless they are powerful enough to enchant themselves otherwise. In the wiccan category is whitelighters. Whitelighters are wiccans who are given special healing abilities. They are more or less the counterpart to demons as they are pure and want to help people. No matter the injury, whitelighters can heal it so long as the person is still alive.creaturesThis section is open to quite a bit of interpretation, minus something like unicorns or something from mythology. keep it within reason, but this could include shapeshifters, phoenixes, succubus, reapers, and so on. Any sort of hybrid [i.e. vampire/werewolf, anything not pureblood] would fit into this category as well. Creatures must have a human form but it is possible they can shift into something else as well. Their strengths and weaknesses will be entirely dependent on what they are but those that are vampire, werewolf, or wiccan halfbreeds will take on those characteristics as well.
area 51
Area 51 is a category specifically for those who are staff of the compound, or even government workers contracted to work out of the secret area. This can vary from cooks in the kitchen to housekeepers to scientists. They are all sworn to secrecy about what happens inside the base and while it is an unwritten rule, they are all well aware that spilling it’s secrets would mean death. Some are incredibly militaristic, treating inmates like soldiers or even animals whereas others are kind and simply want to understand how the supernatural body works. Generally speaking, area 51 agents are mortals who are armed with the necessary items to keep supernaturals in their care under control. If they are something else, there needs to be a very specific reason for it, or they do their best to hide it from their colleagues for fear if they are discovered, they will become an inmate themselves.
hunters/mortals
every supernatural being sees mortals as the inferior race and in many cases they are. mortals can look like absolutely anything and are the weakest of all species. mortals tend to get caught up in their emotions more so than the supernatural and sometimes it leads to their demise. as the supernatural see it, mortals are ignorant and incompetent which is why they tend to be a prime target. they are targeted by all three of the supernatural species seeing as they are easily manipulated. they can be easily killed and while they can fall in love with a supernatural being, procreation of any sort is impossible. there are a few mortals who are completely aware of the supernatural world. these mortals either had a run-in with something evil or are known as hunters. hunters use whatever possible to eliminate the supernatural races. how boring, eh?
